There
are many reasons to implement an ISO 9000 based quality management
system. Often the market is the driving factor. Once an ISO quality
system is in place, companies realize that there are internal
benefits which are as important as the external ones.
Dun
and Bradstreet findings:
- 85%
of registered firms report external benefits including higher
perceived quality and greater customer demand.
- 95%
report internal benefits including greater employee awareness,
increased operational efficiency and reduced scrap expense.
CIRAS
News says:
- Cutting
quality cost in half can increase profit more than a 10% increase
in sales could.
- ISO
9000 is the most promising method for cutting the cost of quality.
