This course is designed for individuals to determine root causes
of issues or problems. You will test methods and tools to identify
and verify root causes and how effective your solutions are. You
will learn how to:
Define the problem/issue
• Asking appropriate questions and using appropriate tools
to clearly define the problem - why it is important, how it impacts
the customer and how do we know when we are successful.
Understand the current situation
• Further focus on the situation by gathering data to determine
the major contributor of the problem.
Identify and verify root causes
• Confirm you have identified the root causes and where
to focus your improvement efforts.
Develop and implement solutions addressing root causes
• Plan and determine feasible solutions. Implement the most
appropriate one.
Check for Effectiveness
• Evaluate both the solution and implementation using data
to determine how effective your solution was.
Standardize
• Maintain the results from you implementation/corrective
action through documentation, training and auditing to the new
practice.
Incorporate
• Determine mechanism to incorporate root cause analysis
into your quality system.
